Allright! My second attempt to a tape manicure! I like this one better than yesterday's try, but it's still not perfect. This time I took a picture of my nails with the tape on them, because a picture says more than a thousand words ;)

And some tips for tape nail art:

1. Make sure the polish is dry before you apply the tape and when you apply the tape, make sure the edges are completely sticking to your nail to prevent 'bleeding' (polish coming under the tape).

2. After you've put the second colour on the nail, remove the tape as soon as possible. Logically, if you let the polish dry, it will not only stick to your nail but also to the tape.

3. Remove the tape very careful and slow. This way, the polish can seperate neatly.

If you don't follow 2 and 3, there will probably come more polish off along with the tape than you want.

Erika, the one behind the blog Chloe's nails, makes great manicures using tape. I finally decided to give it a try myself, on my sister's nails. I decided to use a glitter polish, because that's in this case more fool-proof I believe. Plus, painting someone else's nails is always a fantastic opportunity for using glitter, since I will not have to take it off myself! ;)

Because I think they fit together so well, I used the same colours as I used here. This includes OPI Show It and Glow It, again, yes. It's the only glitter polish I have that is opaque after one (thick) coat, and that's neccessary for this tape manicure.

This is how I did it: after painting the nails pink, I put a piece of tape on it (I used normal tape, not the so-called Scottish tape as Erika uses), painted glitter over it and removed the tape as soon as possible. (That's why a one coater is needed: you can't wait for the polish to dry to add another coat because when you remove the tape once the polish is dry, more polish will stick to it and come off too.) By clicking on the picture, you can see properly where I put the tape.

Well, what can I say about this picture... My mother likes purple! No deep thoughts behind this manicure. I free-handed this, but you can also use tape if you find that easier. Just make sure you choose three colours that are opaque in one or two coats (preferably one).
